Samsung Mobile launches in Ireland

21/10/2005 - 08:40:05
Samsung Mobile, the world’s number three manufacturer of mobile phones, today announced its launch into the Irish market.

Samsung Mobile is entering the market with the launch of five handsets - the ZV10, E350, E530, Z500 and the X480 – which will be available on the Vodafone and 02 networks.

Mark Mitchinson, Director of Samsung Mobile UK & Ireland, said: “We are confident that Samsung Mobile’s entry into the Irish market will have a significant and positive impact and our aim to achieve a 15% share of the market within 12 months without compromising our core strategic values.”

Samsung Mobile, which represents just over one third of Samsung Electronics annual turnover, already operates across Europe. The company said today that it was on target to ship in excess of 100 million handsets worldwide by the end of 2005, which will place it as the second-largest mobile manufacturer in the world.
