Harney attends EU bird flu conference

The Tánaiste and Minister for Health Mary Harney has travelled to Hertfordshire in Britain for a two-day meeting of EU health ministers on bird flu.

The meeting comes comes as Thailand confirms its 13th victim of the virus, a 48-year-old man who died after he ate his neighbour's sick chickens.

Bird flu has claimed more than 60 victims in Asia since 2003.
