Italian air traffic control strike causes flight chaos
20/10/2005 - 07:19:14Italian air traffic controllers have staged a four-hour strike to call for better training and shorter working hours, causing 144 flight cancellations.
The strike, limited to controllers working at Rome airports, began at noon yesterday.
State airline Alitalia said it had cancelled 62 domestic and 40 international flights, and the rest of the cancelled flights were from airlines including British Airways, Air France and Lufthansa, the airport said.
