Kutcher turns Moore romance into sitcom
Ashton Kutcher has turned the tables on his critics by turning his romance with Demi Moore into a sitcom.
The Punk’d star is producing a pilot loosely based on the couple’s relationship – about a younger man who marries an older woman and becomes stepfather to her children.
Kutcher, 27, and Moore, 42, tied the knot last month and their May to December romance has been the subject of endless tabloid speculation since they began dating two years ago.
The show, titled 30-Year-Old Grandpa, is being developed for the Fox TV network.
It follows a 30-year-old club owner who marries a successful businesswoman in her 40s.
She soon gets pregnant and so does her 22-year-old unmarried daughter, who moves back home to raise her child.
Another of the woman’s daughters then moves in with the newlyweds as well.
“It becomes a very modern, messy look at an extended American family,” Karey Burke, Kutcher’s producing partner, told trade publication Variety.
It is not the first time the pair have sent up their relationship.
When Kutcher presented popular late night show Saturday Night Live earlier this year, Moore appeared on stage dressed as a grandmother, stooping over a walking stick.
