ESBI opens Spanish power plant
19/10/2005 - 10:00:36The ESB's international arm, ESBI, is to launch the first internationally-owned independent power plant in the Basque region of Spain today.
ESBI, with its partner Osaka Gas, today opens the power plant three months ahead of schedule in Spain at Amorebieta, near the city of Bilbao.
The total investment in the project is over €500m.
The plant uses the latest combined cycle technology to generate electricity from natural gas.
