Murray magic as Cork go top

Dan Murray led by example as Cork's captain scored the goal that put them back on top of the Premier Division table.

Cork had the dream start of the lead goal after just 90 seconds - Alan Bennett heading home his first goal of the season from Liam Kearney’s corner.

But a blunder by Bennett gifted Kevin McHugh the chance to level on 53 minutes which he took with aplomb.

McHugh then thought he had won a penalty when he was clearly fouled by Neal Horgan on 67 minutes. But referee Pat Whelan waved play on and Cork scored their winner within a minute.

Bennett crossed low from the right and fellow defender Murray sidefooted home. Cork are now ahead of Derry City on goal difference, but have a game in hand.
