Haynes 'serious' in hospital

England’s first £100-a-week footballer Johnny Haynes is in a serious condition in hospital.

The 71-year-old played 594 times for his only club Fulham and made 56 appearances for his country.

A spokesman for Edinburgh Royal Infirmary confirmed “he is one of our patients”.
