Significant hearing loss amongst Irish workers
17/10/2005 - 09:25:33The Health and Safety Authority say hearing loss is the most prevalent, irreversible industrial disease in Ireland.
About one third of Irish workers are exposed to high levels of noise for more than a quarter of their working lives.
The HSA has launched an awareness campaign called “STOP THAT NOISE” to raise awareness, as they say the majority of Irish workers are not aware of how they damage their hearing at work.
