McDowell calls on local authorities to set licensing hours
17/10/2005 - 19:40:55The Minister for Justice Michael McDowell has called on local authorities to use their own powers to set closing time for licensed premises in their area.
Mr McDowell said that not a single local authority in the country has exercised powers regarding opening hours for pubs.
He told Ocean FM that local authorities must become more proactive given that legislation has been in place for two years.
