Briton hurt in Luge crash

A 30-year-old Briton suffered head and facial injuries when he crashed while riding a luge in Austria, police said today.

The man crashed on a sharp curve on the summer luge track in Strobl, in the Salzburg province, police said in a statement.

He was catapulted from the track and landed on a parallel track just a few yards away.

His friend who was riding in that track, then smashed into the man’s head, the statement said.

He was taken to hospital. His identity and condition has not been released.
