Psycho the best of Hitchcock Collection
DESPITE a remake and a couple of dud sequels, Psycho (Universal) remains one of Hitchcock’s best, and one of the classic horror films of all times.
Now released in a double disc special edition, Universal Pictures have also brought out 14 other titles from the maestro in The Hitchcock Collection (or separately), including The Birds, Vertigo, Rear Window and Marnie.
Apart from watching out for Norman Bates and his mommy — how often have you seen another horror variation of this crop up in the last couple of decades? — the shower scene still carries a lot of power.
The bonus disc is The Hitchcock Legacy, with an in-depth interview by Ingrid Bergman’s daughter and a AFI lifetime achievement award. This is also available with The Hitchcock Collection.
