Up to 500 students receiving new college offers today
13/10/2005 - 08:25:31Up to 500 students who successfully appealed their Leaving Cert results are reportedly receiving new college offers in the post this morning.
Yesterday, the State Examinations Commission announced that more than 2,600 of the almost 12,000 appeals lodged had resulted in marks being upgraded.
Reports this morning said the upgrades had resulted in 403 new college offers being made for honours degree courses.
A further 11 revised offers have also reportedly been made for ordinary degrees or higher diploma courses.
The students receiving the offers, most of whom are already in college, are not obliged to accept the new offers, but can transfer from their current course if they wish.
