Property developer to launch rival bid for Jurys hotels
13/10/2005 - 07:29:12Property developer Sean Dunne is reportedly planning to challenge the Doyle family for control of the Jurys hotel group.
Reports this morning said Mr Dunne was launching a €1.3bn takeover bid for the group, which operates hotels in Ireland, Britain and the United States.
Yesterday, a consortium led by members of the Doyle family announced a formal takeover offer worth €1.25bn.
The daughters of PV Doyle, who built up the hotel empire, already own 42% of shares in the company, while Mr Dunne owns 28%.
