11/10/2005 - 13:28:59
Thirty hurlers who excelled in the summer's inaugural Christy Ring and Nicky Rackard Cup competitions are to be honoured at a function in Croke Park on Saturday, November 26.

Akin to the top tier's Vodafone All-Stars, the Ring and Rackard players, who will each form a selection known as the 'Champion 15', received nominations at the end of each game this past summer from opposing team managers.

Their selection was not dictated by positions.

Chosen earlier today, the Christy Ring 'Champion 15' includes three players - Enda McLoughlin, Killian Cosgrove and Andrew Mitchell - from Ring Cup champions Westmeath.

Under the selection format, the champions have three players honoured with two players from the beaten finalists and semi-finalists also being recognised in addition to one player from each of the other participating counties.

The third tier winners London have trio Fergus McMahon, Michael O’Meara and Jim Ryan on the Rackard '15'.
