Gala opening for 50th Cork Film Festival tonight
09/10/2005 - 17:10:58One of Ireland's oldest and biggest film events, the Cork Film Festival, gets underway today on its 50th anniversary year.
The festival was set up to bring the best of international cinema to Irish audiences and showcase new Irish film.
This year it is hosting a number of special events to celebrate its birthday, including tonight's gala opening in Cork city.
