Emmerdale security stepped up after scripts mislaid
Security on the British TV soap Emmerdale has been stepped up after two sets of scripts for the programme were mislaid, a spokesman for the show said today.
One set of confidential documents was left in a Leeds pub, while another was mislaid on a London-to-Manchester train.
Both were found by members of the public who tried to pass them on to two national newspapers.
A spokesman for the hit soap, which has 8.7 million viewers, would not comment on whether there will have to be re-writes after the security lapse over the plot-lines.
It was reported that the documents left on the train contained a synopsis for 23 forthcoming episodes, while the one found in a pub detailed plans for shooting story-lines in Spain.
One set of scripts has been returned to Yorkshire TV’s head offices in Leeds, the Yorkshire TV spokesman said. The others are still missing.
The spokesman added: “These are working documents for cast and crew containing confidential information. We kindly ask they are returned to Emmerdale production centre at Yorkshire TV.
“We are looking into how this has happened and reminding our teams to take care with these confidential documents.”
