One in six Irish people has used cannabis

One in six Irish people has used cannabis at some stage in their lives, according to a survey published today by the National Advisory Committee on Drugs.

Seventeen per cent of respondents to the survey said they had used the drug, with 3% saying they had done so in the past month.

The survey found that the average user had their first experience with cannabis at the age of 18, while men were more likely to use the drug than women.
