Minister rules out legalisation of cannabis
07/10/2005 - 15:54:02The Minister with responsibility for the National Drugs Strategy today ruled out the legalisation of cannabis.
Noel Ahern was speaking at the launch of a major new survey which shows that one in six people in Ireland have used cannabis at some stage in their lives.
It found that the drug was more popular among young people, and that men were more likely to use it than women.
Minister Ahern said cannabis would remain against the law.
