CSO reports decrease in Live Register figures
07/10/2005 - 11:51:05The Central Statistics Office has reported a decrease of 2,700 in the number of people claiming unemployment benefits last month.
The CSO said 159,100 were on the Live Register in September, a decrease of 2,700 since August and of 7,000 since the same month last year.
The Live Register is not a measure of joblessness as it also includes part-time, seasonal and casual workers who claim unemployment assistance.
