Boruc's Celtic future unclear
Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc is sending out mixed messages about his Parkhead future.
The Poland international – thought to have attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal – insists he is happy to stay on loan in Glasgow yet has also hinted other options may still be on his mind.
Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell reports negotiations have opened with the Pole to make his season-long loan deal permanent.
Boruc himself said: “I had to leave Legia (Warsaw). I needed a new challenge. But my heart remains at Legia Warsaw, which still is my beloved club.”
The next move is likely to be Celtic’s, he believes
“Celtic now have the pre-emption right, but I can’t arrange a settlement regarding an individual contract. I have to return to Warsaw first.
“I don’t know (about going to another club). I don’t want to leave Celtic because this is a very good club.
“But I also think that sometimes you have to take the bull by the horns.”
Lawwell said: “I am not surprised at all by the interest in him.
“He will have a number of options, because he is a magnificent goalkeeper with great potential.
“We will do all we can to make sure he stays at Celtic Park beyond this season.”
