Australia to host meeting of Asia-Pacific flu experts
05/10/2005 - 08:15:05Australia will host a regional meeting on avian influenza in Brisbane on October 31 to co-ordinate an Asia-Pacific response to a potential pandemic, the Foreign Minister announced today.
The two-day meeting in Brisbane will bring together disease co-ordinators from all 21 countries in th Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation group, plus observers from other regional neighbours, said Foreign Minister Alexander Downer.
“This is a high level meeting organised by Australia whch is designed to develop co-ordination among all 21 Apec economies,” Downer said.
