Roscommon EGM to examine financial crisis next week

The extraordinary general meeting of Roscommon GAA Board, scheduled to look into the board's financial crisis, now finally looks set to go ahead next week.

The EGM has been postponed on a number of occasions, and it has now been pencilled in for next Wednesday night.

At least two clubs in the county are expected to table motions of no confidence in the executive of the board, but it is not yet clear if these will be ruled in order on the night.

The board's staggering €1.4m debt came to light earlier this year, and at the weekend local businessman John Murphy handed over a €1m interest-free loan to ease the burden.
