Man injured after gang petrol-bomb house
05/10/2005 - 08:03:05A man was taken to hospital after a gang wielding baseball bats petrol-bombed a house in Armagh, police said today.
Four adults were in the property in Hillside Avenue in the Hamiltonsbawn area when the door and front windows were smashed by five men.
The gang then threw a petrol bomb into the living room before they drove off in a dark-coloured vehicle.
A 23-year-old man suffered superficial burns to his face and neck as he tried to tackle the blaze. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
Detectives have yet to establish a motive for the attack, which happened shortly after 9.30pm yesterday.
It is understood the gang escaped in the direction of Main Street and police have appealed for witnesses to the attack to come forward.
