Crash victim dies in hospital
05/10/2005 - 17:18:22A 25-year-old man died in hospital today – four days after being critically injured in a car accident in Co Mayo.
Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the single vehicle collision which occurred on Clare Street, Ballina at the weekend.
The deceased was hurt when the car he was driving struck a pole at 2.45am on Saturday, October 1.
He was taken to Mayo General Hospital and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital where he died.
A garda spokesman said there were no other vehicles or persons involved in the accident.
“The man’s name will not be released until all next of kin have been notified,” he added.
