Four Courts security set for revamp

30/09/2005 - 07:56:26
Improved security arrangements are due to come into force at the Four Courts in Dublin on Monday.

Under the arrangements, the public will no longer be allowed unrestricted access to the building via its famous front entrance on the city's quays.

Instead, they will have to use different entrances depending on their reason for being in the courts.

Scanning equipment, CCTV surveillance and vehicle access restrictions are also being introduced, while judges, lawyers, court reporters and other professionals have been issued with new photo IDs.
