Berger’s debut disappoints
30/09/2005 - 19:42:51Torremolinos 73 (Tartan) director Pablo Berger’s debut feature is about a man making a feature film called Torremolinos 73.
In fact, Alfredo Lopez (Javier Camara) is a struggling salesman who suddenly finds a new career, making educational porn films starring himself and his wife Carmen (Candela Pena).
All of which is very funny — up to a point. But when Alfredo goes all serious over making a feature film a la Bergman, Berger loses his way. A shame.
