TD's nephew held in relation to Portuguese murder

29/09/2005 - 07:44:16
A nephew of Fianna Fáil TD Noel O'Flynn is reportedly among five men being held in Portugal in connection with the murder of an Irish drug dealer earlier this month.

Reports this morning said the Cork TD had confirmed that his newphew, Alan O'Sullivan, was among the group detained after the murder of Michael Ahern.

The reports said the 27-year-old was arrested along with three other Irishmen and a Portuguese man following the discovery of Mr Ahern's body on September 15th.

The remains of the Cork drug dealer were found in a freezer in an apartment in Albufeira, on the Algarve coast.

He had been shot dead, apparently as a result of a dispute with a rival drugs gang.
