Taoiseach agrees to improve pay and conditions for carers
29/09/2005 - 15:39:07The Government has agreed to improve payment and conditions for family carers.
In a meeting with the Carers Association today, the Taoiseach promised to consider developing a National Strategy for Family Carers.
Over 150,000 carers are seeking support from the state in the form of training and allowances.
Minister Seamus Brennan said the Government planned to make home care a priority in the next budget.
