Meath woman breaks two world records in ballooning
29/09/2005 - 11:57:00A Co Meath woman has succeeded in an attempt to break two world records for solo flights by a female baloonist.
Pauline Baker, a property consultant from Trim, broke the records for duration and distance travelled this morning.
Ms Baker departed from Athenry and travelled around 92kms in just over four hours before landing near Mullingar.
The previous duration record of two hours and 40 minutes was set by an American woman in 1975, while the distance record of 75kms was set by another American seven years ago.
