Andre shocked by troop hit
29/09/2005 - 12:50:28Outkast star Andre '3000' Benjamin has become an unlikely hero among American troops in Iraq because they use his tune BOB (Bombs Over Baghdad) as a morning wake-up call.
The rapper is shocked to hear how important his five-year-old tune has become for troop morale, but is happy to be valued.
He says: "My dad's next-door-neighbour's son sent a letter home saying how Bombs Over Baghdad was the song that they wake up to.
"It gets them hyped. I don't know if I want it to be a rally song for troops, but if it helps morale and keeps them going, I guess it's a good thing."
