Wings tops Cheveley field
Flashy Wings heads a list of 10 entries for the Sky Bet Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket on Thursday.
Mick Channon’s two-year-old has a prime opportunity of getting back on track after she was surprisingly beaten by Expensive in the Watership Down Stud Sales Race earlier in the month.
Prior to that outing, the Zafonic filly had won all her four races and remains a leading fancy for next year’s 1000 Guineas.
Aidan O’Brien is likely to be represented by Beauty Bright, while Brian Meehan’s progressive filly Donna Blini is scheduled to be ridden by the fit-again Mick Kinane in the six-furlong affair.
Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes winner Nidhaal also takes her chance, with James Fanshawe’s Riotous Applause and Chris Wall’s Wake Up Maggie still engaged.
Sweet Afton, Modeeroch, Dizzy Dreamer and Princess Margaret Stakes winner Mixed Blessing complete the field for the Group One contest.
