Figo relieved by Nacho absence
Winger Luis Figo is delighted Inter Milan will not have to face Rangers striker Nacho Novo in the Champions League tomorrow night.
The Spanish frontman is set to miss the next two months following an operation on the bone he broke in his foot during Saturday’s 1-0 loss at Hearts.
The former Real Madrid ‘galactico’ said: “Of Rangers’ individual players I particularly rate Nacho Novo from watching him on television.
“He looks a very good player so I think we are lucky that he isn’t fit to play in this game.”
Tomorrow’s match will be played in front of an empty San Siro, due to trouble in Inter’s match against AC Milan last season, when goalkeeper Dida was struck by a flare.
Figo highlighted the one Inter player who could destroy the Scots on his own.
He said: “I’m sure Rangers know it already but Adriano is a machine. I knew all about him before I came here and I haven’t been disappointed. It’s like playing with Ronaldo. He is that good.”
