ISEQ up as financials surge ahead
Gains by a number of heavy-hitters kept the ISEQ buoyant today, up 46.09 points to 6705.08.
Financial stocks performed particularly well, all seeing gains today.
AIB led the charge, up 39c to €17.72. Anglo Irish Bank was up 27c to €11.22, while Bank of Ireland saw a 22c jump to €12.95. Irish Life and Permanent, however, was down 5c to €14.90.
Food group IAWS had its profits announcement greeted with a 5c fall in share price value to €11.40. The group today announced a total operating profit pre goodwill of €124.1m for the year ended July 31, up 13.7% on the previous year.
Meanwhile, oil company Dragon saw a 9c fall to €2.63 after its announcement of after-tax profits of €41.2m, up from $15.3m (€12.7m) in the same period last year.
Mining group Ormonde stayed level at 16c after it reported a loss of €201,224 for the year ended June 30.
