Heavy-hitters keep ISEQ in black
Gains by a number of heavy-hitters kept the ISEQ buoyant this morning, up 46.09 points to 6705.08.
Financial stocks performed particularly well, all seeing gains today.
AIB led the charge, up 35c to €17.68. Anglo Irish Bank was up 24c to €11.19, while Bank of Ireland saw a 22c jump to €12.95. Irish Life and Permanent rose 5c to €15.
Food group IAWS had its profits announcement greeted with a 25c fall in share price value to €11.20. The group today announced a total operating profit pre goodwill of €124.1m for the year ended July 31, up 13.7% on the previous year.
Meanwhile, oil company Dragon saw a 10c fall to €2.62 after its announcement of after-tax profits of €41.2m, up from $15.3m (€12.7m) in the same period last year.
Mining group Ormonde stayed level at 16c after it reported a loss of €201,224 for the year ended June 30.
