Old Firm to meet in CIS Cup

24/09/2005 - 17:13:32
The Old Firm have been paired together in the draw for the CIS Insurance Cup quarter-finals.

Celtic will play host to arch-rivals Rangers on November 8 or 9 after meeting at the same stage of the competition last season.

On that occasion at Ibrox, the Light Blues were extra-time winners before clinching the trophy in March.

But Celtic and Rangers required an extra half-hour to see off the challenges of Falkirk and Clyde this week.

Bank of Scotland Premier League bottom club Livingston have been rewarded for their surprise win over Hearts in the cup with a fourth-round pairing at home to Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Last season’s runners-up Motherwell will play host to Aberdeen after the Dons defeated Stranraer in midweek.

Hibernian will make the short journey across the Forth Road Bridge to take on Dunfermline in their quarter-final.

Insurance Cup fourth round is:

Celtic v Rangers

Dunfermline v Hibernian

Livingston v Inverness Caledonian Thistle

Motherwell v Aberdeen

Matches to be played on November 8 and 9.
