Lady bidding to book Boussac ticket
Confidential Lady faces a crucial workout on Tuesday morning ahead of a possible crack at the Prix Marcel Boussac on Sunday week.
Sir Mark Prescott is considering the mile event after an unsatisfactory scope ruled the Singspiel filly out of a run in the May Hill Stakes at Doncaster’s St Leger meeting.
The Heath House handler had been hoping to have Confidential Lady back in time for tomorrow’s Meon Valley Stud Fillies’ Mile but he has been forced to bypass that outing.
He told At The Races: “I would have liked to have run her in the Fillies’ Mile but we came up with a cloudy scope that prevented her running in the May Hill.
“That has taken a bit of shifting and if it shifts in time then we would probably think of the Marcel Boussac next weekend. She would have to work well on Tuesday.”
Confidential Lady has won four of her six starts, notching up a hat-trick in June and July before just coming off second best to Nasheej in the Sweet Solera Stakes.
She bounced back by taking the Group Three Prix du Calvados in impressive style at Deauville last time and Prescott believes she must rank highly.
He added: “Her form so far makes her the best staying filly around but there will be better ones to come.”
