Cork make comeback to progress to semi
Cork City 3 Sligo Rovers 1
Kupono Low gave Sligo a shock lead only to get himself sent off as Cork were given a fright at Turner’s Cross.
Michael Devine did well to parry away a Paul Brown header from Faz Kudozovic but Hawaiian Low reacted quickest to volley home the rebound and put Sligo in front on 40 minutes.
Cork were level in first-half stoppage time.
No Sligo defender tracked the run of City skipper Dan Murray who met Neal Fenn’s corner to head to the net.
Low was then sent off on 51 minutes for pulling back Roy O’Donovan and it was backs to the wall thereafter for the First Division leaders.
Having twice hit the bar, Cork finally got their noses in front on 78 minutes when John O’Flynn stabbed home O’Donovan’s cross.
George O’Callaghan added the third five minutes later from the penalty spot after Rafael Cretaro pulled down O’Donovan.
