Govt bids to attract women into science and engineering

The Government has launched a scholarship programme aimed at attracting more young women into the science, engineering and technology sectors.

At present, men vastly outnumber women in these sectors.

The programme launched today will see 10 scholarships worth around €20,000 each awarded next year.

The scheme is a joint initiative between the Department of Enterprise and computer giant Dell.
