Bus Éireann drivers end unofficial strike in Athlone
23/09/2005 - 10:42:35Bus Éireann drivers have called off an unofficial work stoppage which disrupted services in Athlone this morning.
The drivers mounted the action to protest against the overcrowding on buses operating in the Co Westmeath town.
They want the company to provide more vehicles on routes out of Athlone in order to alleviate this overcrowding.
Their unofficial action caused major disruption to Bus Éireann's Athlone town services this morning, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded.
