British victim of Dublin Bus accident dies in hospital
23/09/2005 - 10:41:51One of the two women knocked down by a bus in Dublin city centre last week has died from her injuries in hospital.
The two British tourists, aged 56 and 60, were hit by a Dublin bus while crossing O'Connell Street near the Spire last Thursday.
They had been on holidays in Co Mayo and were on a shopping trip in Dublin before catching a flight back to their homes in Birmingham.
The elder woman, who was left fighting for her life, died in hospital yesterday.
She has since been named as Marie Buckland, who was originally from Co Sligo.
Her colleague survived the accident with less serious injuries and is recovering in Birmingham.
It emerged earlier this week that the dead woman had her bags stolen while she lay on the street waiting for an ambulance last Thursday.
