Voter satisfaction with the Government and the Taoiseach has fallen further in recent months, according to an opinion poll published this morning.

Fifty-eight per cent of respondents to the Irish Times/TNS mrbi poll said they were dissatisfied with the Government, a rise of seven percentage points over the past three months,

Forty-seven per cent also said they were dissatisfied with the performance of Bertie Ahern, which is up eight points since June.

Elsewhere, the poll found that a possible rainbow coalition of Fine Gael, the Labour Party and the Greens would have combined support of 44%, compared to 38% for the current Fianna Fáil-Progressive Democrats alliance.

The overall state of the parties was put at: Fianna Fáil 34% (up two points since June), Fine Gael 25% (unchanged), Labour 14% (unchanged), Sinn Féin 10% (down one), Greens 5% (up one) and the PDs 3% (unchanged).
