Roscommon County Board facing motion of no confidence
22/09/2005 - 13:40:30At least two clubs are due to table motions of no confidence in the Roscommon County Board this week.
The motions are due to be tabled at an extraordinary general meeting of the board on Thursday night.
The move follows an audit that accused board members of being grossly negligent with the county’s finances.
The audit uncovered a deficit of more than €250,000 for last year, when the board had reported a surplus of more than €115,000.
It also found that €60,000 had been transferred into the bank account of a company belonging to board chairman Stephen Banahan.
The money was later repaid.
