Greens outline vision for future of Dublin city centre

The Green Party has outlined a vision for the future of transport in Dublin city centre to mark Car Free Day today.

In a six-point policy document, the party said the College Green area should be transformed into a traffic-free area, while the two LUAS lines should be linked up.

It also wants most of the city centre to be turned into a civic space tailored to the needs of pedestrians.

Green Party leader Trevor Sergeant said such measures would boost tourism, business and the general atmosphere of Dublin.
