Solano won't rush back
Nolberto Solano has insisted he will wait until he is 100% fit before making his Newcastle debut.
The Peruvian, who rejoined the Magpies on transfer deadline day, was originally suspended and has since suffered a thigh injury which prevented his second debut in a black and white shirt.
And he admits this weekend’s match against Manchester City at St James’ Park this weekend may come too soon.
“It has been disappointing not to have been able to play since I came back to Newcastle,” he told the club’s official website, www.nufc.co.uk.
“I’m recovering now, the injury is getting better and better.
“But it is important that I wait until I’m 100% fit, so I will see what happens later in the week.
“I’m looking forward to making my debut and obviously I would love that to be on Saturday against Manchester City.
“But I have not played much over the last couple of weeks and I don’t want to play then have to come off after 25 minutes or half an hour with the same problem.
“It is important to get it right,” he said.
