O’Driscoll won’t rule out move to France
Brian O'Driscoll today said a move to France would be "an option" when his contract expired next summer.
O'Driscoll was photographed with the Biarritz captain and club president, and in the club trophy room over the weekend, leading to speculation that he may be considering a move.
Both O'Driscoll and his coach Michael Cheika said the Irish captain's current commitment was to the Blues, but O'Driscoll declined to rule out the option of moving.
“I was just there to watch a game. People are always going to speculate when they see that sort of thing but at the moment I'm contracted to the Irish Rugby Union and it's going to be that way for the next nine months what happens after that - I guess there's still going to be speculation.”
Regarding his injury, the Ireland captain said he didn’t have a strict timeframe on when he expected to return to the pitch: “It's very hard to put an exact time on when I'll return. My rehab is going well, I’m taking it week by week. I try not to set too many goals because you can suffer disappointments if you don't seem as though you're reaching them.
"I don't know when game time is going to be - it's going to be when it's going to be.”
