Gardaí to reopen grave after tip-off about girl’s body
21/09/2005 - 07:44:59Gardaí are reportedly due to reopen a grave in Co Laois this morning following a tip-off that it may contain the body of a young girl.
Reports this morning said gardaí had been told that a box containing the body of a young girl was found while the grave was being dug in preparation for the burial of a local man 11 years ago.
The box was reportedly covered up and the body of the man was placed on top.
This morning's reports said gardaí had been checking missing persons files as part of their investigation into the tip-off.
However, there is no information to suggest any link to the disappearances of six women in the 1990s whose cases were investigated under Operation Trace.
