British train drivers to strike

Train drivers at one of the UK's biggest rail operators are to stage three 24-hour strikes in a row over hours which union leaders warned would cripple services.

Hundreds of members of Aslef at First Great Western will walkout on October 3, 11 and 19 as part of a campaign for a four-day working week.

The union said the action will halt services into London’s Paddington station from South Wales, Bristol and the West Country.
