Fallon sees the light

20/09/2005 - 14:29:41
Kieren Fallon gave Dunelight a vintage ride to win the opening race at Newmarket.

The 6-4 favourite was being scrubbed along at halfway in the BVI Sail And Stay Median Auction Maiden Stakes.

But the former champion never gave up on Clive Cox’s charge and drove him into the lead well inside the final furlong for a neck verdict over Kyoto Summit, with Conkering the same distance back in third.

Afterwards Cox’s assistant John Rowe said: “We expected him to win here today.

“We are looking forward to running him next year and Kieren has just confirmed this. He said the horse has a lot of scope and is going to be really nice.”
