Derry City kept their treble dreams alive tonight as they lifted the eircom League Cup for the sixth time.
Alan Murphy gave Derry the perfect start with a terrific solo goal after 14 minutes, ghosting past two defenders before shooting past Darren Quigley.
But College were level on 40 minutes when Conan Byrne scored a timely first goal for the club, punishing an error by Clive Delaney to drill his shot home.
Derry regained their lead within four minutes for what proved the winner when Killian Brennan’s cross was turned into his oven net by the back-tracking Pat McWalter for an unfortunate own goal.
