Rally co-driver dies in crash
18/09/2005 - 11:16:49Englishman Michael Park, co-driver of Markko Martin, has been killed in an accident during stage 15 of Wales Rally GB.
Peugeot driver Martin, who was running in sixth place overall, crashed heavily on the 17-mile Margam stage, with early reports suggesting he hit a tree on Park’s side.
Rally organisers confirmed at 10.45am that Park, 39 and from Newent in Gloucestershire, suffered fatal injuries.
